OLD MOHAVE COUNTY JAIL, KINGMAN, ARIZONA

3120 N. Fourth Street, Kingman Arizona

Nestled in between the historic 1915 Mohave County Courthouse and 66,000 square foot courthouse expansion under construction, the 1909 Mohave County Jail was empty when this photo was taken in February 2020. Built in 1909-1910 by the Pauly Jail Company with concrete work by John Mulligan, and said to have been the most secure facility of its kind in Arizona Territory at the time, the jail served Mohave County until a new jail was built in the neighboring courthouse basement in 1965.
